Light Sheer

M.D. Claiborne & Associates, L.L.C. - Dermatology Specialists

Light Sheer® is a non-invasive light therapy device specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body. The process uses a state-of-the-art 800nm infrared light to gently remove unwanted hair, putting an end to routine shaving and waxing. This patented diode laser technology delivers long-lasting results. It treats larger areas such as the back, shoulders, arms, legs, and face rather than treating one hair at a time. Light Sheer® uses pulsed light to remove hair and impair hair regrowth. Pulses of light safely penetrate the skin and disable hundreds of hair follicles simultaneously. You may feel a slight pinch or the snap of a rubber band. You can return to work the same day and resume all regular activities, but it’s always a good idea to limit sun exposure.

You may not be a candidate for laser hair removal if:

  1. You have a history of keloid scarring
  2. Have active herpes virus infection
  3. Use of oral isotretinoin (Accutane) within the previous 6 months
  4. Recent use of waxing or depilatories within the previous 4 weeks
